keyofnik: Okay, so, house! It’s two levels, top image is top floor, bottom image is ground floor. There’s a fuckton of room here with a lot of open spaces, so a good purchase for our large Simshi family, I think. The top floor has only one room made, which is a master bedroom/mini-living room, which I actually really like. You just go up the stairs, and bam, you’re in the room. I’ll probably keep that for JW and Hubby (though possibly move the easel out and put the chess table there instead, as it’s currently outside on the porch). It has four other bedrooms, all downstairs, but clearly meant for regular-sized people and not tiny Simshi baby people. SO! My thoughts. Turn all that current none-existent second floor space, (marked (1) on the image, into the Simsh’s bedroom. It’s still, like, way the fuck too much room for just a bedroom, so then possibly cut it down the center and turn the other half into a play room. I originally was thinking bedroom on the right and play area (the smaller, less open area) on the left, but on reflection, that might work better reversed. OR, I do nothing with this space and leave it for now. So to the first floor. The … entertainment room or something I guess (marked (2)), is nice and open, but there’s not much in it save for a stereo. I’m thinking about turning that instead into a family room, with big comfy chairs and sofa and big TV and bookcases for everyone to just chill in together. Room (3) is a little study with a computer. That could stay,or I could knock down the wall between (2) and (3) to expand out the family room and/or add a little toy/play area there for the kids. I’d still like a study though, so maybe move that to the slightly larger (5)? Hubby’s chess setup could also find a home there. Another thought for (5) is to connect it off the kitchen and make it a dining room, rather than having the dining room setup right smack in the middle of the open space at (6). If the Simshi bedroom isn’t upstairs, then it would need to be down here. On that front, thinking of knocking down the wall between the two rooms marked (4). As noted, I really kind of suck at this sort of thing. Opinions solicited!
