aelie-baby: Heero doesn’t know how to interpret Duo’s flippancy. Heero always plays it straight, and just doesn’t get that just because Duo is being flippant about it, doesn’t mean that he’s not taking the threat seriously. In fact, the more flippant Duo becomes, the more seriously he is taking the situation. But Heero just does not understand that. To him, Duo is acting like this is just a normal run of the mill mission, when success today could very possibly end the war before it even begins. I mean, we the audience know what’s up (speaking of, I need to go dig up the old Ackbar gif - I predict it will get much use this episode…) (and after digging myself out of the rabbit hole of Firefly gifs…) Duo, if I’m interpreting his look correctly, is aware that Heero just doesn’t understand flippancy, and is just rolling with Heero’s correctional attitude. I get the feeling Duo is used to that kind of response to his particular brand of humor.
