keyofnik: Back to Rei’s situation. There’s no way of knowing how long it’s been since Zoicite’s attack, but I’m thinking a week, maybe a bit longer. It’s been enough time for Yuuichiro to settle in, to have undergone at least some “training”, and for Rei to notice behavioural changes in Grandpa that aren’t getting better. A week with her dealing with what we’re seeing right now. Alone. And again I want to emphasize that Rei’s so concerned, she’s AGAIN bringing Grandpa’s behaviour to the attention of her friends. This is Rei, who’s like that wounded animal who’d rather crawl under your porch and die than show weakness. But she’s here, on the ground, with her sobbing Grandpa, and she’s saying THIS IS HIS NEW NORMAL.
