llijillbeans: frozeninarendelle: I’m glad they repeated the body language here. One thing that was amazing in this movie is the way they used Elsa’s posture to build her character. She does a lot with her hands, she often can be seen clasping them when she’s nervous (note the “Don’t feel” scene and the Anna coming to ask for her blessing scene). She also likes to hunch to pull herself into herself, her nucleus point is her stomach where she basically keeps everything still and in check. Part of what’s awesome about Let it Go is that shot at the end where she throws her arms out and her chest is forward and she’s incredibly open because she’s lost all those fucks she gave. And then here, the trigger object of all her problems, Anna, shows up and she very quickly goes back to being that girl. Part of what’s so incredibly heartbreaking about the FtFTiF(reprise) scene is watching Elsa completely deteriorate back into that scared, closed in person. “I’m such a fool, I can’t be free”, pair it up with Elsa calling her powers a curse for the first time (“I can’t control the curse”), and her being afraid of her own reflection and you’ve got the most heartbreaking scene in a recent Disney movie. ^ reblogging for THAT explanation
