shitloadsofwrestling: Men On A Mission [1993] The team of Mabel and Mo were known as a monster team on the independents, but once they came up to the WWE, they were used more or less as role models. They were shown in vignettes talking about bringing up the ghetto, rather than embracing the tough lifestyle. Their manager was a rapper named Oscar, and collectively, they were known as Men On A Mission (or M.O.M., which could be the initials of the three men or the group’s name). The team spent a year being babyfaces, keeping the crowd on their side with their signature “raise the roof” hand gestures and general good attitudes. However, when the team were entered in a tournament for the Tag Team Championships, they were eliminated in the first round. Despite this, they continued to try to climb the ranks the right way to achieve Federation gold, at least before being defeated by The Smokin’ Gunns. After the match, the team attacked Billy and Bart, and a week later, they called their opponents out to apologize only to attack them again. This time, they kicked Oscar out of the group (which was a shoot, because Oscar didn’t want them to be bad guys). In 1994, Mabel won the WWE King Of The Ring tournament by defeating Savio Vega. Afterward, he adapted the moniker King Mabel, dubbing his partner as Sir Mo. During this era, Mabel started gunning for the WWE Championship, while Mo was essentially his sidekick. This run lasted through SummerSlam, where Mabel was defeated by Diesel. In early 1996, both Mabel and Mo were released by the WWE, and Viscera wouldn’t re-appear until two years later.
