Some of those opponents include Bruno Sammartino (who Ladd challenged for the WWWF Championship), Wahoo McDaniel, Junkyard Dog, and Andre The Giant (who Ladd referred to as "Andre The Dummy" or "Big Fat French Fry"). Ladd had a trademark too, as a guy his size wouldn’t normally do, when it seemed as though he was about to be defeated, Ladd would roll out of the ring and leave the match, taking the countout loss. This came to be known as "pulling an Ernie Ladd".
