keyofnik: YOU AND US BOTH I both love and am frustrated by how sometimes they just made up one-off shit that. I mean they’re MAGIC, they could theoretically do whatever. Some of it I can incorporate into large headcanon to explain it, such as Usagi’s fuku spontaneously growing ice blades that one time. (The idea that they have conscious or subconscious control over their uniform actually explains a lot of things.) Powers used only one time, however, and as a trend that never makes it past the first handful of episodes, it’s so much harder to not just see it for the plot contrivances they are. You’d think that if the Senshi could kind of do anything with their powers, or come up with new shit on the fly, they’d do it MORE as they got more experienced, not less. So here, especially as (for my headcanon) there WAS no Sailor Moon in the past and Luna is winging it, she just MAKES UP SHIT, and because Usagi blindly believes Luna, she trusts that it’ll do exactly what she needs it to do. AND LO.
